About

About Evan:

Think our dancing looks awkward? Wait 'till the wedding!

As quoted by Daniella, “Evan is a kind and gentle soul who doesn’t like to be tickled.”

I’m not sure you knew about the tickling part and quite frankly, maybe you wish you didn’t. But I’m pretty sure that most of you know me, and I’m guessing the “kind and gentle soul” part is at least somewhat in line with you past experiences.

Now, on to the boring stuff. I was born, raised, and continue to reside here in San Diego. I currently work as a freelance web designer and developer and in my free time I enjoy cycling, fishing, music, fine locally-crafted microbrews, and watching the Padres and the Chargers.

About Daniella:

Daniella recently completed her Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership at the University of San Diego, and continues to work on campus in the Center for Student Success as the Interim Assistant Director for Retention Programs. That’s a long title.

Daniella is passionate about academics and helping students succeed in college, but she also enjoys yoga, shopping at Nordstrom, cooking, watching cooking on TV, looking at the cooking items on our registry, talking to Evan about cooking, and reading cook books. In addition, she also enjoys eating and making “Mmmm” noises when she is eating good food. Sometimes she even does a little scrapbooking, but really when there’s a wedding to plan and a degree to complete that stuff kind of gets put aside. Like Evan, Daniella is very excited about the success of the Padres this year, much to the chagrin of her family who thought they had raised her to “Think Blue.”

About Evan & Daniella:

Evan & Daniella

Still attracted to each other after all these years.

We met early in our first year of college at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Daniella’s first memory of Evan is of him skateboarding around campus. She thought he was too cool for school (which maybe he was, considering this was UCSD) but she quickly realized he was actually just a computer nerd at heart.

Evan’s first confirmed memory of Daniella was when she put out a trash can for him to sleep next to after a night of too many beers (she didn’t want him to vomit in her dorm suite).

Now that doesn’t sound all too romantic, nor should it. That’s because we didn’t officially start dating until March of 2005, after we had graduated from UCSD. We were friends first, then we fell in love, kind of like Harry and Sally – how’s that for shmoopy!
